Emirates suspends flights to and from Iraq till mid-October
Due to growing tensions in the region, Emirates has canceled all flights to and from Iraq and Iran till October 16.
During this time, the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates added that flights to the Iranian capital, Tehran, and the Iraqi cities of Baghdad and Basra would be stopped.
Up to and including October 16, passengers transiting via Dubai and ending up in Iraq or Iran would not be permitted to continue their journey.
In response to Iran’s recent missile attack on Israel, different Gulf-based airlines have modified their flight schedules to guarantee the safety of their passengers.
Dubai-based Emirates announced earlier the suspension of its flights on October 2 and October 3 to and from Baghdad and Basra in Iraq, Iran, and Jordan.
The flight cancellation is because of concerns about Israeli retaliation following Iran’s attack on Israel on October 1.
The airline, which is the largest in the Middle East, outlawed pagers and walkie-talkie devices on flights to, from, or via Dubai.
