Iraq moves up three places in June’s FIFA rankings
The Iraqi football team moved up three positions at once in the monthly rankings for June released on Thursday by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
The Iraq Football Association (IFA) said in a statement that according to the classification issued by FIFA on Thursday, the Iraqi football team ranked 55th globally and sixth on the continental level, with a total of 1433.07 points.
According to the FIFA classification revealed on Thursday, the Iraqi football team is ranked 55th internationally and sixth on the continent, with 1433.07 points, the Iraq Football Association (IFA) said in a statement.
The IFA added that Iraq’s football team came after the teams of Japan, Iran, South Korea, Australia, and Qatar in the FIFA ranking.
The two victories achieved by the Iraqi national team at the beginning of June over the teams of Indonesia and Vietnam in the second round of the AFC qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup were the reason for moving up three places.
The Iraqi football team was ranked 58th in April’s ranking before moving up three places to settle in 55th place.
